Seasoned, not weathered. Lapping, not crashing. Wake, not spray. Life on the lake is like no other – sunsets are richer, family time lasts longer, and that homespun peach ice cream is a little sweeter.

Project story

Lake Oconee has long welcomed generations of families from Atlanta, Augusta, Macon, Athens, and surrounding Georgia cities to a waterfront retreat steeped in tradition and recreation. Known for its casual elegance, natural beauty, and small-town charm, Georgia Lake Country has been exclusively inclusive since 1979. World-class golf is balanced by best-kept-secret bar and grills. Abuzz during Masters Week and College football season but serene for sunrises all year round. Home to notable names in sports, business, and Country music as well as generations of Georgians. A refined crowd, but dressed down. A place where you wave to passing boats, and sunsets are shared by all.

Local couple, Lauren and Josh Sprayberry, owners of Anchors Marina and deeply involved in the Lake Oconee community, saw an opportunity to welcome back generations of Georgians that had been priced out by limited accommodations on the lake. Their west-facing lakefront plot of land made for the perfect place to create a welcoming resort; a place to feel like your own personal lakehouse, a dock to tie-up to, an experience to draw friends and family and create lasting memories.

After spending time with the Sprayberry’s and at the lake, we knew the only way to honor their vision was to embody the lake. The Len Resort captures the unique rhythm of life on Lake Oconee, using it to inspire the design and program, while contributing to the familiar cadence of the lake. Like the reliable yet spontaneous flow of lake life, we authored experiences that are fresh yet quintessential, creating an inviting charm and gravitational pull that effortlessly draws people in.

From the graceful script of Len to the nautical striping elements, every detail of the visual identity is inspired by the lake. The hotel’s color palette draws from greens of the foliage, the blues of the water, and pops of color found on the local Blue Heron. The restaurants, Marina, Spa, and conservation easement all accentuate parts of lake life, creating a rich, well-rounded experience for any guest, whether coming for relaxation or recreation, solitude or socializing.

The Len Resort is redefining what it means to enjoy Lake Oconee; the hotel’s harmony with the lake making them feel one in the same, ensuring that returning to Lake Oconee feels like coming home. The confluence of curated comfort, attentive care, and spirited celebrations make it easy to fall back into rhythm with friends, with family, with the lake. A place where tradition and modernity, energy and serenity, elegance and easygoing are in balance, to welcome and welcome back guests to find their rhythm on Lake Oconee.
