The sign welcoming you into Kanab reads, “Magically Unspoiled”—a statement that couldn’t be more true. When people think of Zion National Park, they think of Springdale—the popular town that sits at the park’s western entrance. But for the adventure-seeking, Kanab is a mecca of exploration. The 3D topographical map in the city’s visitor center displays the four National Monuments, three National Parks, two National Forests, three State Parks, ten iconic Utah trails, and thousands of miles of hiking, biking, and breathtaking vistas within an hour's drive radius. All that seems to be missing is a place to land, a basecamp from which to explore all that this hidden gem of Utah adventure has to offer. Until now.
A mile from downtown sits thousands of untouched acres, beautiful natural flora, and a view that changes with the arc of the sun. A blank canvas, framed by iconic red rock mesas, ready to bring never-before-offered luxury, outdoor adventure accommodations to Kanab, Utah.
Everything from the spatial planning to the materiality of the buildings is designed to accentuate the land. A resort embedded into the topography, each room providing a view of the plateau in the distance and the iconic Utah terrain in the foreground. An intentional landing that brings the outdoors in.
We developed a brand that reflected that intentionality, integrating the outdoors into every aspect of the guest experience. The name “Arro” is a subtle nod to the iconic arroyo landscape, embodying the fluidity and power of nature in the desert. The staff, referred to as the "tramily," embraces a guide mentality, offering expert advice, personalized recommendations, and unexpected moments of “trail magic” that elevate the guest experience. Endless activities challenge guests' limits and provide restorative experiences to nourish the body and soul. This blend of adventure and relaxation ensures that guests leave feeling inspired, fulfilled, and connected to the stunning beauty of Southern Utah.
The brand expression is a reflection of the rugged beauty, boundless adventure, and quiet reverence that defines Kanab and the surrounding Southwest landscape. Like the layers of sedimentary rock carved by time, each visual element is carefully considered and intentionally placed to tell a story that is both timeless and dynamic. Inspired by the contours of canyon walls and the fluidity of arroyo streams, the logo serves as a compass—guiding guests toward exploration while remaining rooted in the natural world. Hotel Arro’s color palette is a tonal reflection of the Kanab landscape—earthy, layered, and timeless, and the textures echo the raw, time-worn surfaces of the desert. And every image is meant to feel like a moment of discovery—where light, texture, and movement come together to tell a story of exploration, rest, and connection to the land.
